Join The Arc!
The Arc is composed of individuals with developmental disabilities, as well as family members, friends, educators, volunteers, and professionals in the field. In Illinois, over 3,000 members participate in more than 50 local chapters. Founded in 1950 by a small group of parents and friends of people with developmental disabilities, the Arc of the United States today has 140,000 members in more than 1,200 local and state chapters across the country.
A small membership fee grants you membership in the ARC of the United States, ARC of Illinois, and PARC. Among the benefits of membership: the many Arc of Illinois publications and video presentations which are available to members requesting research, employment, prevention, family, and organization information. Members automatically receive The Arc Today, published quarterly by the Illinois Arc, as well as invitations to participate in seminars and conventions at a discount.
