What a Difference a Day Makes!

The Heart of Illinois United Way held its 2007 Day of Caring on Friday, September 7th. The Day of Caring brings together volunteers from area businesses to perform a variety of tasks for HOIUW member agencies in need of assistance. This event is one of many presented by the HOIUW to promote volunteerism within our community.

As a HOIUW member agency, PARC was able to benefit from this Day of Caring. We are grateful to the many volunteers from the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Allen Road and Townline who donated their time and energy to paint classrooms at PARC's Townline facility.

The employees of Wal-Mart Supercenter are great neighbors to have and show continued support for PARC and our mission to provide choices for a quality life to individuals with developmental disabilities. In addition to volunteering for HOIUW's Day of Caring, Wal-Mart Supercenter is host to PARC's 2007 PARC 'N' Play Super Cruise-In. This annual event is held to provide activities funding for PARC programs. The event features a classic car cruise-in,  food and fun for all ages, musical entertainment, games, raffles and much more. To learn more about this event contact Tammy Bart at (309) 689-3705.

Special thanks to all the volunteers from Wal-Mart Supercenter whose participation in the 2007 HOIUW Day of Caring really do make a positive difference in our community!

PARC would also like to thank the Heart of Illinois United Way for their continued role in support of programs that make a difference in our community! To learn more about the HOIUW, contact Gina Edwards, VP of Marketing & Communications, at (309) 674-5181.
